Join us for the book launch of "Why Don't The Poor Rise Up? Organizing the Twenty-First Century Resistance", published by AK Press.

Drawing from examples from the book, this talk will examine contemporary anti-capitalist organizing efforts from around the world. The emphasis will be on organizational work, from Kali Akuno's Cooperation Jackson, to David Gomez Vazquez' look into the Territory of the Community Police in Guerrero, to the radical cross-hemisphere shout of "Idle No More: Grounding the Corrientes of Hemispheric Resistencia" by Praba Pilar and Alex Wilson.

Camas Books & Infoshop is a community run, all volunteer bookstore with new and used books, both fiction and non-fiction, on a variety of subjects. We also carry zines, patches, stickers, and a range of t-shirts and other artisan-produced items. Feel free to come by and hang out in our seating area with your laptop, or play in the kids' space.
